Mission and Me
Oak Hall's Mission and Me? weekend which is held on the first weekend in December each year is designed for those who know and sense God's call to serve Him in full time Christian service and are seeking the next step.
Whether one's heart is for mission in the UK or overseas, there are many opportunities open to believers.
During the weekend there are various sessions covering a range of issues which would be of interest to those considering the mission field. We will cover many areas looking at questions such as;
- Guidance, How do I know? Where should I go? - Using ones gifts & skills - Is theological training required? - Funding... How does God provide?
- Should I tent-make? - Adjusting to cultural change - My home church - Facing opposition & disappointments ... and many others
On the Sunday morning, we would have an 'open question' session, giving chance for delegates to ask questions to any of the speakers.
The speakers who come to share in the weekend are those who themselves are, or have been involved in the mission field. Usually there will be around 8 to 10 speakers, each leading one or two sessions during the weekend. Throughout our time together the speakers would be delighted to spend time with you, and so we allow plenty of opportunity to chat with them over meals and coffee breaks.
There are a number of organisations which bring displays, giving details of their work and the various opportunities that are available for Christian Service. However we try not to push any one particular Christian mission agency or Bible college above any other, and see the weekend as a generic time to consider mission and God's call on our lives.
Please do call the office if you wish to find out any more about the Mission and Me? weekend.
