Numerous mountain tracks and magnificent scenery

The Black Forest of Germany is ideal for walking, with lakes, waterfalls, and marked tracks. There are breathtaking panoramic views as we wander past woodcutters’ huts and traditional villages. We enjoy sunshine, fresh air and healthy activity.

Relaxation and walking to suit everybody

You can come and simply relax in the sunshine or enjoy our optional excursion package with a carefully graduated programme of walks designed to suit everybody. We walk through the forest to Schluchsee, where we find an Aqua Park, and boats are available to hire on the lake. Another day we go by train to Titisee and walk around the beautiful lake here. The chair lift takes us up the Feldberg - the highest mountain in the Black Forest range. From here we walk through wonderful scenery past the little villages where coffee and Apfelstrudel are available to refresh us.

Triberg’s waterfall and capital city of Freiburg

There is plenty to see as we travel to Triberg, which has the highest waterfalls in Germany. It is also the home of red squirrels and the cuckoo clock. Freiburg is the capital city of the region, with attractively restored historic buildings and a maze of pedestrian precincts crowded with every kind of shop.

Splashing into the fun of the Aqua Park

As a fun addition to walking in the Black Forest there is the Aqua Park. This has a giant slide, jacuzzis, a sunbathing terrace, swimming pools and a restaurant. Out on the lake itself, there is a choice of rowing boats and canoes, as well as a steamer that takes you on a cruise around the lake. Mountain bikes are also available for hire.

Excellent meals and an indoor swimming pool

We will be staying at the Lindenhof, which was built as a large, traditional Black Forest farmhouse. It has been modernised and has many different sized rooms. At 3,000 feet this centre is superbly located and contains a small indoor swimming pool to enjoy. We are provided with food prepared German style by the resident chef. Each evening we meet together for a time of singing and a helpful Bible talk.
