    Mountain peaks and alpine lakes

Our accommodation is on a sunny terrace overlooking Lake Wallen. The surrounding area, known as Heidiland, is a beautiful world of mountains, valleys, caves and waterfalls. There are magnificent mountaintops with blue lakes, sun-blackened farmhouses and lively little towns. The cable cars take you to numerous footpaths, crystal clear alpine lakes and vast pastures.

    Swimming and walking

There is plenty to do in the area, including a superb network of walking paths that make it easy to explore, some of which start right by our accommodation. A cable car running up Mount Maschgenkamm goes even higher into the mountains, and another runs down the mountain to Lake Wallen. The beautiful, clear water is just the right temperature in the summer, and is ideal for swimming or activities on the water. In the local village of Tannenboden you can watch cheese making, and a large indoor swimming pool is also available locally.

    Lake steamers and Alpine cafés

Our optional excursion package takes us on a spectacular cable car ride to Lake Wallen. From the lakeside we cross by steamer to Quinten. Here there is a peaceful settlement that can only be reached by boat. It is a beautiful place to stop at the café for coffee and cake. Our steamer then collects us again and we cross the lake to Wessen, an interesting town with plenty to see. Our second excursion takes us to Bad Ragaz, an attractive town with interesting shops, cafés and walks by the river Rhine.

    Exploring the principality of Liechtenstein

The highlight of our package is a tour exploring three different countries that lie in close proximity to each other. First, we travel to Vaduz, the capital of the tiny principality of Liechtenstein. We then explore the ancient city of Feldkirch in Austria, and Rapperswil in Switzerland, with its beautiful lakefront walks and its castle.

    An awe-inspiring, magnificent location

At Churfirstenblick, the rooms are for two (with options for three or four also available). Showers and toilets are located on each floor. A limited number of en-suite rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Our caterers will be providing us with three meals a day. It is awe-inspiring to have evening meetings on the terrace worshipping God together in such magnificent surroundings.

Remarkably affordable in the best of Switzerland

You can choose to travel by air or by coach. We have exclusive use of our mountain centre accommodation, which is used as a simple hotel in the winter months. It is a traditional wood building and was built in its superb location one hundred years ago. The Oak Hall team will run the centre and we invite you to join in the fun and teamwork, making our time here remarkably affordable. Do come and join us to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere that everybody associates with Oak Hall Expeditions.
