Prague is a city everyone should visit. A pleasant lunch at a riverside café, a rowboat on the river or a carriage-ride through the Old Town - just some of the ways to enhance the memories of this captivating city.
Exploring picturesque Prague
Set high on one of Prague’s seven hills, the majestic Prague Castle and Cathedral provide stunning views over the city. Stretching over the river, the 600-year-old Charles Bridge offers a wide range of local artists and musicians the opportunity to share their talents with the world passing by. Good King Wenceslas sits astride his horse in the vast square named after him, while the architecture and charm of the Old Town with its astronomical clock and cafés are sure to draw you back.
Prague - as vibrant by night as by day
Our optional excursion package includes a walking tour with a registered guide to acquaint us with the city of Prague, and an evening visit into Prague, allowing us to capture more of the enchantment. St Nicholas Church is an architectural masterpiece, and an evening visit to the Charles Bridge will give the opportunity to absorb the atmosphere created by the musicians and other entertainers.
River Vlatva cruise with buffet meal
Much of the medieval character of Prague has survived and you can spend hours wandering back in time. Also as part of our package, a leisurely cruise on the Vltava River takes us through Prague and out to the countryside. At the end of each day we will return to our hotel for an evening meal and an interesting Bible talk.
Exploring Southern Bohemia
Outside of Prague there are beautiful landscapes and intriguing places to explore. Our optional excursion package takes us along the country lanes of Southern Bohemia to the Hussite fortress town of Tabour complete with secret tunnels still used today, and the Windsor Castle look-alike, Hluboka, with its stunning woodwork and tastefully decorated rooms. Another visit will take us down into the stalagmite caves at Konepruske and up to the picturesque Karlstejn Castle where Charles IV locked himself and his jewels away from the world.
Three-star hotel in an attractive location
We stay in an excellent hotel in Beroun, a town set by the Berounka River and located just 45 minutes by public transport from the centre of Prague. The three-star Hotel Grand is part of the Best Western chain and offers en-suite rooms for two with breakfast and evening meals provided. |
