This tour of Southern Africa is an excellent opportunity to explore this beautiful part of our world. As we travel each day through the African countryside, we will pass through three different countries and see an amazing diversity of cultures and landscapes.
Amazing landscapes and rivers
Our flight lands in Johannesburg, South Africa and we take an overland truck to Botswana and our first campsite. Here we will camp on an island in the Okavango Delta and explore this unique environment by foot and dugout canoe, home to zebra, wildebeest, elephants, giraffe and baboons.
Remarkable African wildlife
The Chobe National Park is renowned as Africa’s greatest elephant sanctuary, but it is also home to four of the ‘Big Five’, a vast array of birdlife and a selection of crocodiles, making it one of the most remarkable concentrations of wildlife in the world. We hope to see lions, leopard and buffalo as well as the elephants, impalas, kudus, lechwe and kingfishers.
Incredible activities at Victoria Falls
Victoria Falls is the adventure capital of Africa, where many exciting, optional activities are available including rafting, bungee jumping and helicopter flights. We visit the falls from the Zambian side.
Relaxing at Warmbaths
Our final stop is at Warmbaths - a place that is as relaxing as the name suggests! It is known for its hot springs and offers the chance to rest and rejuvenate or enjoy the optional activities on offer with river rides, game drives and cable skiing.
The best service and experience
We are pleased to enjoy again the services of ACTS (African Christian Tours and Safaris), an experienced and professional organisation. They use a fully equipped overland safari truck and provide us with all our meals and drinks. As well as seeing the fantastic scenery we will have the chance to visit Christian projects helping to improve the lives of orphans and struggling communities.
Camping in a beautiful environment
The tents we will be using are heavy-duty, high quality two-man dome tents, with 5cm mattresses on the floor. The campsites have flush toilets and hot showers.
You will need to be the outdoor type who enjoys the vast expanse of the bush and is always prepared for the unexpected. It is said that once you have African soil on your shoes you cannot shake it off – we are sure you will find this is true!
