If you enjoy sunshine and beaches then this is definitely for you!

We stay in a beautiful situation on the Mediterranean coastline. You can bask in the sunshine on the sandy beach and swim in the warm, clear waters. It is difficult to imagine a more picturesque setting  - and there is so much to do!

Three-star hotel by the sandy Mediterranean beaches

We are pleased to be returning to our three-star hotel in the town of Calella, known for its marvellous sandy beaches by the blue Mediterranean and close to the green forests of the Montnegre mountain range. This part of Catalunya in Spain has plenty to offer with excellent beaches and stunning countryside.

Tasting a bygone era in two attractive towns

As part of our optional excursion package, we go inland to see Catalunya as it was hundreds of years ago. Girona still has its ancient valley ways and numerous shops packed with items of curiosity. The river sweeps through the town just as it did when it brought prosperity in Roman times. In Pals, enjoy a coffee as you sit at one of the cafés and admire the extensive views across the surrounding countryside.

    Barcelona – buzzing with activity

We also visit Barcelona, one of the Mediterranean’s biggest cities. It is packed with interest and sizzles with creativity. La Rambla is the most famous pedestrian precinct in Spain and is alive at all hours of the day and night. Barcelona’s vibrant life is clear, with the shops, street vendors, cafés and street acts providing the entertainment. The art nouveau buildings created by Gaudi are astonishing, especially his unfinished masterpiece, the Sagrada Familia cathedral. The medieval centre has the fourteenth-century town hall, the Gothic cathedral and the royal palace, which, together with museums, parks, waterfront  entertainment, the port and modern shops, ensure a very full day out in Barcelona.

High above the world at Montserrat

We drive through arid, desert-like scenery on our third excursion as the coach climbs to the ancient Benedictine monastery of Montserrat. The scenery has natural beauty high amongst the mountains with spectacular views. The monastery has many treasures to see and the mountains provide stunning walks and cable car rides.

A hotel in an excellent location

Our hotel in Calella is located 150m from the beach. It is decorated in an attractive, traditional style and has a small courtyard swimming pool. Standard rooms are for two, with a variety of sizes and all have en-suite facilities. Air-conditioning is available in July and August. You can relax on the beach, swim in the sea, hire boats, play volleyball, or explore the shops.

Fly to Barcelona or take our luxury, double deck coach

For our hotel expeditions, we offer two options: Option 1 is return travel using our luxury double deck coach. Option 2 takes you to Barcelona by air, before transferring to the hotel.

With the wide, sandy beaches and the attractive town of Callela, this is a winner in every way!
