Walking and exploring in the Ardennes mountains... The forested expanses of the Ardennes in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg make the ideal setting for us to enjoy footpaths by meandering rivers and to explore forgotten towns. You may even try a few words of the local language, Letzebuergesch.
Plenty of choice in the sunshine Every day there will be opportunities for walking or setting out to a place of interest as part of our optional excursion package. Luxembourg’s largest lake lies in the nature reserve of La Haute Sure. This makes a beautiful setting for a day out and we visit the interesting villages on the way. Perhaps just spending some time in the sunshine by the river will be your ideal way to relax. There will be something for everybody.
Medieval castles and delicious gateaux We follow well marked footpaths for gentle walks over wooden bridges and amongst rock crags crowned by medieval castles. Discover sleepy stone villages sprawled along the banks of rushing mountain streams. Pretty cafés await us, serving good coffee and delicious gateaux.
Luxembourg City overlooking a dramatic gorge Luxembourg City is situated in a dramatic position overlooking a steep gorge. The Chemin de Corniche is an elevated walkway providing impresive views into the deep valley. A thousand years of history come alive in the Grand-Ducal Palace where Grand Duke Henri holds his palace court. Intriguing shops abound in the narrow, cobbled streets. The Bock Casemates are a labyrinth of tunnels hewn in the rock under the city.
Delving into a breathtaking world of caves Underground streams have resulted in the magnificent stalagmites in the breathtaking caves at Hotton. It is a memorable experience to delve into an underground world of extraordinary beauty as we take a tour with an experienced guide. The whole Ardennes Mountain expedition will be something different - interesting days filled with a healthy combination of forest walks and excursions.
