Ghent – a charming city still to be discovered
Ghent, unknown to many, yet is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. Once Europe’s largest city outside Paris, it has retained many interesting buildings (over 900 of them are listed).
Cobbled Streets, Winding Canals and the Citadel Park
With over four hours to enjoy the city, you can wander the attractive cobbled streets and admire the winding canals or visit the ‘three towers’ - two churches and a bell tower in a line pointing to St Michael’s bridge. Sample the quirky sweets at the 19th-century sweet shop, relax in the Citadel Park or explore the Museum of Contemporary Art.
