The beautiful Skanevikfjord

Stay with us at an ideal, modern centre right by the beautiful Skanevikfjord in a peaceful location in the heart of the Norwegian countryside. The location is in harmony with nature as the sunshine reflects off the water and the mountain peaks dominate the skyline. The air is fresher and the scenery more spectacular than you could imagine.

Enjoying all the countryside has to offer

The water is clear and ideal for swimming. We have free use of two-man canoes to explore the fjord, as well as football, volleyball and basketball courts. One of the main appeals of this location is the interesting walks on offer. The nearby hills have an ancient hill fort with stunning views and a beautiful lake. Paddle and cool off in the fresh water of the mountain streams.

A walk through the Norwegian countryside takes us to a village store, at the edge of the fjord. Here, we can buy a range of different items, or just relax in the sun and fresh air enjoying a coffee and cake.

Cruising along the fjords to Bergen

We have an excellent optional package of excursions. These include a journey along the fjords to the bustling city of Bergen, by coach and ferry. Here there is old-world charm with wooden houses and narrow alleyways. Visit the fish market, and enjoy fresh seafood.

You can choose to take the funicular railway to the top of Mount Floyen, where the view of the city framed by the sea, fjord and mountain is one of the most spectacular in Norway.

Mighty waterfalls and glaciers

Another excursion takes us to Skanevik from where the ferry crosses the fjord to Utaker. At Rosendal there is the option of exploring the grounds of an intriguing manor house. We also travel to Folgefonna, where we walk to a beautiful lake with stunning views of the glacier.

Steep waterfalls crash down as cascading veils of water and spray. Nine of the twenty highest waterfalls in the world are in Norway and the Latefossen are two of the finest, providing long-lasting memories of this beautiful country.

An interactive Viking museum

Our third excursion takes us to the interesting town of Haugesund. As well as the modern shopping centres and traditional fish market we also have the chance to visit a Viking Farm and museum. This is an opportunity to explore the fact and fiction of the myths surrounding Norway's past in an interactive way - you can even dress up as a Viking!

Tasting Norwegian hospitality

This excellent centre is owned by Christians and is ideal for us. Standard rooms are en-suite and are for two people (rooms for three or four available on request), mainly with bunk beds. There is a large lounge with comfortable leather sofas, and a new sports hall. We will dine well, with three Scandinavian meals a day provided for us by the Norwegian cooks. Following the evening meal, we meet together for a helpful Bible talk.

Come with us by air to the fjord world of Norway.
