Montenegro is one of the last undiscovered jewels of Europe. Nestling against the Adriatic Sea, this small, proud land sweeps up from shimmering lakes and rivers to the soaring mountains that give this fairy-tale destination its distinctive name.

Our hotel on the Bay of Kotor

We will stay right on the coast in a three-star hotel on the edge of the beautiful Kotor Inlet. The hotel is surrounded by orange groves and there are sun loungers available at the front of the hotel by the sea. The dramatic, fjord-like Kotor bay is flecked with islands, fishing boats and rare sea birds. It is surrounded by steep mountainsides and is rightly a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Each evening we will meet together for an interesting Bible talk in this beautiful setting.

A land of stunning beauty

From crashing mountain streams to the refreshing lapping of the lagoons and pools that curl around the coast, Montenegro is a land of contrasts and beauty. Our optional excursion package includes a boat cruise on Kotor Bay, as well as visits to Dubrovnik, Budva, Saint Stefan and Herceg Novi.

Ancient Budva and mysterious Saint Stefan

At 2,500 years old Budva is one of the oldest settlements on the Adriatic coast, known for its Mediterranean architecture. Plunging through the narrow, quaint Venice-like streets we will catch an authentic glimpse of this intriguing town.

Our coach will take us to a viewing point above the  wonderfully mystical island of Saint Stefan, which is covered by historic homes and winding pathways. It is precariously balanced together and connected to the mainland only by a narrow causeway.

The intriguing Croatian city of Dubrovnik

With ancient city walls that sweep down to the harbour, quaint cafés and yachts nosing the water at the quay, Dubrovnik is often called “the Pearl of the Adriatic”. We will cross from Montenegro into Croatia to spend the day in this beautiful town.

A relaxing cruise on Kotor Bay

A boat cruise through a narrow inlet leads to this magnificent bay, stopping off on intriguing islands where our guide will retell some of the wonderful stories that were played out against the backdrop of ancient monasteries. The town of Kotor itself, with its dramatic waterfall is famed for its Venetian city walls and medieval old town.

A marvellous destination

This will be an unforgettable journey to the sunshine, coasts, history, beauty and vibrancy of Europe’s youngest nation. Delightful Montenegro, still undiscovered by most, will be a destination to talk about for years to come.
