E & O E

What time do I need to arrive at Otford Manor to park my car before my trip departure?

The courtesy minibus to the Otford meet point leaves the Manor 15 minutes prior to the meet time.  Please drop any passengers and their hand luggage at the MacDonalds in the Riverside retail park before coming to the Manor car park and load all your main luggage on to the trailer.

When can I pay for my lift pass?

Lift passes can be pre-ordered for all winter holidays now.  The price of the pass will only be added 7 days prior to departure.  If you have already selected your pass, your booking will be updated at this time and the balance can be paid online.  If you have not selected a pass type or no balance shows on your account at this time, please contact the office so we can update your booking with the correct pass for you.  Occasionally the cost of the lift pass is included in the basic cost and this will be made clear in the holiday details.

Where is the Folkestone meet point?

The Folkestone meet point is at the Stop24 motorway service station.  This is at junction 11 of the M20 in Kent.  If you are parking, please park in the allocated bays in the car park and make payment as directed.  The coach will meet you in the coach park area.  There is a waiting room here.

How much luggage can I take with me?

For coach holidays we ask that you limit your luggage to 20kg.  This is due to the weight restrictions that apply to coaches and trailers.  It is also helpful for our drivers who are loading the coaches to not have heavy bags to lift.  It is better to bring a normal suitcase rather than a soft hold all style bag as these pack more easily into the luggage space.

If you are bringing skis, please note that a carriage fee of £20 per bag applies.  Please take care not to overload these bags.

For holidays where you are flying out, please check with the airline directly (details of which airline you are flying with can be found on the website or in your detailed information sheet).  You can also find information here regarding sporting equipment.

Lufthansa        :           www.lufthansa.com

BA                   :           www.ba.com

Swiss              :           www.swiss.com

If you wish to add skis to your BA reservation, please contact the office for further assistance.

Details of other airlines being used can be found in your detailed information sheet.

While London is bustling with the Olympics during Summer 2012, how do I travel from London to meet the Oak Hall coach?

For most of our Summer 2012 programme, we will not be offering our usual Victoria Coach Station meeting point as the city will be very busy! Instead, guests will travel from London Victoria Station to Otford Station (a journey of just over 30 minutes) to meet our coach.

What are "cookies"?

The best varieties are those we eat these with a good Oak Hall hot chocolate, however in computer jargon, "cookies" are very short text files that are saved on a user's computer when visiting a website.

Our site functions with cookies. This means, for example, that when you return to our Oak Hall site, you don't need to re-enter your booking number - it's as though our website had remembered you. Actually, our site has not remembered - it was the cookie saved on your computer that told our site when you revisited where your booking was.

Cookies are not something new - they have been used for many years and most websites now use them but we just want to be transparent and clear about how our site works!

We assume - as explained on the front page of our site - that a person's use of our site indicates that they are happy with this arrangement.

What is Oak Hall's Guest Cancellation Policy?

If you book more than two months before departure, a deposit of £50 is payable to reserve your place with us. Any room-supplement is paid at the time of making this initial reservation. This deposit and room-supplement are non-transferrable and non-returnable.

The balance of the cost of the holiday is due two calendar months before departure. Unpaid places are cancelled after this point and released to those on the waiting list. After this two month payment deadline, the full cost is non-returnable. Please ensure that you have travel insurance cover from the time that you pay for your holiday as you may be able to make a claim through your travel insurance company if your reason for cancellation falls within the terms of their policy.

Do I need any vaccinations for my holiday?

It’s best to contact your GP to see if you will need any vaccinations, as they will have your medical records showing which ones you have had previously. They also have access to the latest World Health Organisation advice on vaccinations for each country. If they need to know which part of the country you will be travelling to, you should find this information in the Detailed Information Sheets for your holiday, which we usually send out at least 10 weeks before departure. A useful website for travel-related health advice is www.fitfortravel.nhs.uk.

How do I obtain a Group Discount?

If you come with a group of friends or family discounts are available if all the bookings are made within 3 days of each other.  A discount of £20 per person is available for groups of 10 or more and for groups of 6 or more the discount is £10 per person.  The discounts will be applied once all members of the group have paid their final balance and so will be used to offset the cost of lift passes.  This offer is subject to availability and is not available for weeks 3, 11, 17 and 18 - and week 4 at Lauterbrunnen (L/A/X4).
