Hundreds have discovered the delight of cycling along quiet tracks and roads in beautiful scenery on our cycling expeditions. We return home healthy and fit, having had an exciting time exploring carefully selected routes.
A range of routes and cycle groups
We will follow a range of carefully selected routes, beginning with shorter distances and gradually increasing in length. Everyone will explore the same routes, but split into different groups depending on the type of cycling you are looking for. The ‘coffee and cakes’ group take everything at a relaxed pace, admiring the scenery, while the fastest group enjoy the chance to prove their fitness! With other groups in between as well, this cycling expedition will be ideal for everyone looking for an active and refreshing break.
Country lanes leading to magnificent châteaux
The Loire Valley is renowned for its cycling opportunities. We stay in a key location with a campsite right by the River Loire. From here we have a variety of cycling routes that take us through medieval villages, along the banks of the river, and into the magnificent, vast parks surrounding the aristocratic châteaux.
The Château de Chambord is one of the most amazing; the grounds alone are larger than the whole of central Paris. Each of the châteaux is steeped in history and is well worth exploring before returning along a different route to our campsite for an excellent evening meal.
Ideal cycling countryside
As we cycle along the quiet country lanes and forest tracks we pass fields of beautiful sunflowers and can stop to enjoy mouth-watering patisseries at the bakeries and delicious charentais melons for sale at local farm stalls.
A range of additional activities
In addition to the cycling on offer, there is a modern swimming pool on the campsite. There is also the possibility of travelling by train to the beautiful cities of Tours, Orléans or even Paris.
An excellent end to the day
On all our expeditions, after a day’s cycling we return to our campsite for an energising meal, as well as a Bible talk that is always a highlight. We can then relax over a cup of hot chocolate and share stories of the day’s cycling or take part in games and activities. |
