Beautiful Dachstein-Tauern peaks

This is one of the world’s great ski destinations.

From our hotel, we can gaze out on the beautiful Dachstein-Tauern peaks. Here, four interlinked mountains provide a huge variety of pistes for all to enjoy. With 123kms of high quality runs to experience, it's not surprising that this is a popular training area for World Cup ski racers.
 

The impressive Dachstein glacier

The Reiteralm Silver Jet Gondola quickly takes us to a height of 1860m, from where there is an amazing view over the Ennstal valley.

The extensive Ski Amadé area provides guaranteed snow with widespread snow-making facilities and the impressive Dachstein glacier. From the glacier, we love to take in the exceptional views over the Styrian province of Austria towards Salzburg.

Comfortable hotel with excellent food

After an exhilarating day of skiing, we return home to Hotel Taferne where our ski boots are left on the hotel's boot warmers for the night. We then enjoy an appetising three-course meal served to us by the Hotel Taferne staff before our Oak Hall evening events begin. A highlight of each night is a helpful Bible talk brought by one of our Oak Hall speakers, after this we might share a snowy walk to a nearby cafe, a team quiz or hot chocolate and great conversations...

The hotel is comfortable and all bedrooms are en-suite. Beds are mostly Austrian-style (one frame with separate mattresses and duvets). There are also a small number of single rooms. (On TA3, there are a small number of superior rooms available which have been refurbished and include twin rather than Austrian style beds).

 


 

One of our favourites: twenty years of Oak Hall skiing in Schladming

We have skied in Schladming for twenty years - it is one of our favourites! We are delighted with Hotel Taferne as this has proved to be an ideal location for a week of the best mountain adventures.

As well as our grand evening dining, a continental breakfast will be served each morning. Guests will then buy their own lunches in local mountain cafés and restaurants.

Lift passes in Schladming

Please click here to see the piste map of the massive area around Schladming covered by the optional lift pass. Included with the ski passes, free ski buses depart right from the door of the hotel and are a quick 2.5kms direct to the Reiteralm slopes.

Hotel with en-suite rooms for 3 or 4. Alternative rooms available on payment of a supplement: en-suite room for 2 (£58pp); single en-suite room (£238). Includes breakfast and evening meals each day after arrival. Bed linen and towels provided. Lift pass not included in basic price.

Independent Travel

You can select to travel independently during the booking process (NB we are unable to book one way flights or change the date of travel).

You can see the independent discount on the same page as the group flight times (click on 'View/Book' if you are viewing this message on the Dates and Prices page).

Please note that there may be a limit to the numbers of places available with independent travel.

The cost for the optional airport transfer is shown later in the booking process.

The airport transfer is booked to coincide with the group flights. Please note that the driver would not be able to wait if you miss the transfer on the first day. If you are not booking on the same flight as the group, we would suggest booking a flight that arrives at least 2 hours before the group flight in case of any delays to your flight.

On the last day, please book a flight which departs after the group flight if you wish to use the airport transfer.

Please do not book your flights until you have received an email from Oak Hall confirming your place on this trip.

If you are travelling independently but someone else in your party will use the group flights, please make separate bookings.

If there are any changes to the holiday, we would not be able to cover the cost of changes to your independent flights. We would therefore recommend booking fully flexible tickets or joining the holiday using our flights.
