Terrace lounge Tudor lounge Prayer lounge Manor Bookshop Accommodation Dining Hall
A warm welcome awaits you at Oak Hall’s beautiful Manor House. Situated on the crest of the North Downs and surrounded by fabulous countryside, the Manor is home to the Oak Hall Christian Team and the base from which Oak Hall Expeditions and events are organised. We run many activities and events at the Manor and we also welcome Churches, Mission organisations and other Christian groups to use the facilities here.
The Terrace Lounge enjoys stunning views out over the valley. Comfortably furnished and equipped with electric piano, drum kit and guitars, sound system with induction loop and audio-visual equipment, it will accommodate a group of over a hundred and yet a group of thirty will also feel at home. We have Mission Praise song books and NIV Bibles available.
The Tudor Lounge, equipped with soft chairs, video & TV monitor, is suitable for groups of up to thirty. A third meeting room the Prayer Lounge - is also available for smaller groups. It is adjacent to the Terrace Lounge and may be used as a crèche, a teaching area or for quiet prayer. Open to all groups is our Manor Bookshop. This is well stocked with a wide range of Christian books, commentaries and Bible study aids.
The Dining Hall, an old Tudor Barn full of character, with ancient oak beams, is warmed in winter by a glowing log fire. The Oak Hall kitchens are renowned for the excellence of their meals. We pride ourselves on providing the very best of traditional English meals and culinary delights with a wide range of flavours and recipes from around the world.
The recently refurbished Games Hall now has a range of new equipment, including: Table Tennis, a Pool Table, Table Football and exercise equipment. For those who wish to exercise in the fresh air, we have cycles available to borrow too.
Accommodation consists of a variety of single, double and twin rooms and shared rooms with bunks. In each bedroom there is a wash basin, with showers and toilets located nearby. On occasions there may be a small supplement payable for single rooms. Please do contact us for a detailed breakdown of the rooms available. As the Manor house has rooms on four floors and we do not have lifts, guests generally need to be able to manage stairs. Please do speak to us about specific access requests before booking. In total we can accommodate up to 70 guests.
We ask guests not to smoke in the house, nor to bring alcohol onto the premises.
NEW DEVELOPMENTS
There have been a number of improvements to Oak Hall’s facilities in recent years. These include the prayer lounge, which is adjacent to the main meeting room.
We have also refurbished the ladies and gents showers on the ‘top floor’ and are in the process of doing the same along the ‘east wing’.
In response to the changing ways in which we all communicate, we now have wireless internet access available in the building and for those without wireless capability there are broadband and dial-up ports available to use.
We always encourage group organisers who are considering bringing a group to Oak Hall for a time away to pop over and have a look around. Please do contact me to arrange a time to do this or indeed if you are in the area, please call in for a coffee and chat; we would be very pleased to welcome you. If you would like to book a group to stay, please contact us to discuss suitable dates and we will do our best to fit you in. Alternatively, please return the booking available here, together with your deposit payment.
Oak Hall is easy to reach by road - just 15 minutes from Junction 3 or Junction 5 of the M25 - or by rail, with a fast service from London Victoria taking just 35 minutes to Otford. Yet it is set amidst tranquil countryside, giving the impression of being “away from it all”. The Estate extends over almost 150 acres of beautiful countryside, with the North Downs Way passing through the grounds, giving superb walks through this area of outstanding natural beauty. There is also a tennis court, badminton court, croquet lawn, volleyball court and an open-air swimming pool within the grounds.
Oak Hall is also a good base from which to explore the sights of London, the castles of Kent, the history of Canterbury and many National Trust properties with beautiful gardens. There are also 10-pin bowling, ice-skating, dry slope skiing and swimming pools all close by. If you prefer shopping centers, Tunbridge Wells and Bromley are easy to reach by road and rail and Thurrock Lakeside and Bluewater are each only half-an-hour away by car.
For further information on Manor House bookings please contact me. We trust that you see much blessing as you serve the Lord Jesus and we look forward to welcoming your fellowship here in the near future and working with you to make your event a success.
Yours sincerely in His Service,
