Below are the coach details as they currently stand. Please note that schedule changes can sometimes be necessary beforehand. Also, although in most instances we are able to maintain our schedule, delays inevitably arise from time to time during the journey due to traffic congestion etc. Please bear this in mind when making onward travel arrangements at the end of the holiday.

From Otford Manor/Sainsbury's, Otford

Our meeting point is the overflow car park at Sainsbury's, Otford (TN14 5EG) i.e. the car park opposite the petrol station.

If you need to park a car, you can use the return ‘Park & Ride’ service from Otford Manor. TN15 6XL is the best postcode to use for SatNavs. Parking costs £17.00 per vehicle per trip (payable in advance). Parking is at the owner's risk and it is recommended that all valuables are removed.

Please drop off your passengers and all your luggage at the Sainsbury’s meeting point before driving to Otford Manor (unless this would mean leaving someone under 18 on their own). There is a McDonald’s with washrooms nearby.

If you are parking and travelling alone, please come straight to Otford Manor and bring your luggage with you.

If you are coming by train, we can pick you up from Otford station (the minibus will start at Otford Manor and pick you up on the way from the Manor to Sainsbury's, where you will board the coach).

Chieveley services

There is also the option of joining the coach at Chieveley services on the M4. We will meet just outside WH Smith.

There is only one site for the service area, which is used by traffic travelling in both directions. For details about the service station click here

Please ensure we have your mobile phone number and that it is switched on, in case we should have any difficulty finding you.

The journey

The coach journey is a great chance to get to know others in the group, so we don’t show films or play music. You might want to bring a small game, for example, as a good way to socialise with others.

Our first meal at the hotel will be the evening meal on the day of arrival. You may wish to bring food for the journey, but we will make regular stops at motorway service areas and our team will also serve complimentary hot drinks (tea, coffee, hot chocolate) and squash.

Our last meal will be breakfast on the day we depart.

It is our policy not to carry or permit consumption of alcohol in our vehicles and smoking is not allowed onboard or immediately adjacent.

Independent travel

If you are planning to meet the group at the hotel, please arrive at the same time so that everyone can check in together to avoid any confusion (see above for timings).

Onward travel

We have a good record of keeping to schedule but with travel over long distances delays inevitably arise from time to time. Please make arrangements for onward travel at the end of the holiday that are fully flexible and fully changeable. We cannot accept responsibility should there be delays.

If you are coming by train, we can pick you up from Otford station (the minibus will start at Otford Manor and pick you up on the way from the Manor to Sainsbury's, where you will board the coach).

Peterborough services

You can also meet us at the Peterborough services (PE7 3UQ) on the A1(M) northbound. We meet just outside WH Smith.

Please ensure we have your mobile phone number and that it is switched on, in case we should have any difficulty finding you.

The coach journey is a great chance to get to know others in the group, so we don’t show films or play music. You might want to bring a small game, for example, as a good way to socialise with others.

You may wish to bring food for the journey, or you can purchase it as Peterborough services. Our team will also serve complimentary hot drinks (tea, coffee, hot chocolate) and squash.

Onboard amenities include comfortable reclining seats, adjustable footrests, arm rests (aisle seats only), individual reading lights, toilet cubicle with handwash and mirror and a small number of USB charging points (please bring a cable). The heating and air conditioning are of necessity a shared amenity, but the upper and lower decks are separately zoned and can be adjusted by the driver.

Your comfort is important to us, but the aisles, staircases and door entry areas must always be kept clear. It is a legal requirement that seat belts are worn. Please contact us in advance if you are bringing a car seat or any mobility equipment.

Tickets and luggage

You do not need to show any tickets or paperwork to the Oak Hall team when joining the group. You will also not need any luggage labels, as we will all be staying in the same hotel.

Please ensure that your luggage does not exceed 20kgs in weight. We cannot guarantee to transport luggage in excess of this. Please do not bring anything that is too heavy for you to carry. Suitcases pack into our coach much better than rucksacks and are more durable.

Your case should be durable and weatherproof with maximum total dimensions (length + width + height) of 150cm (60 inches) or 75 litres. Whilst all care is taken, we cannot accept responsibility should it be lost or damaged in transit.

You can also bring hand luggage for the journey. Please pack this neatly so that it fits in the footwell by your feet.

Insurance

For UK holidays, we do not require you to obtain travel insurance. However, it is still advisable to do so in order to cover the cost of the holiday if you should need to cancel before the departure date, for example.

Helping each other

Please bear in mind when considering any purchases that we are not able to carry alcohol on our Oak Hall coaches or trailers. Sleeping arrangements

These are organised by the office before departure. Our standard arrangement is for those sharing rooms to share with others of the same gender, with the exception of married couples and families. If you are travelling on your own, as many of our guests do, we will arrange for you to share with someone of the same gender and, where possible, a similar age. If you are travelling with others and would like to share with them, please let us know in advance.

Spending money

For a reminder of what's included in the cost, click here and see the 'Dates and Prices' section.

The amount of spending money you need will mainly depend on 1) what you choose to do on the free days e.g. transport or entrance fees 2) any additional things you choose to do beyond what is included during the excursions (e.g. museum entrance fees) 3) any souvenirs you may buy etc.

Please allow for the cost of your lunchtime snack and soft drinks with the evening meal.

Christian books

Holidays are a great opportunity to relax with a book. We will have a selection of Christian books available for purchase. Payment can be made in cash or online.

Optional excursion package
We offer an optional package of excursions. The itinerary will be given at the start of the holiday. This may need to be adjusted according to weather conditions etc .

On each excursion, the driver will need to leave on time, so please plan to be back 5 mins before departure. You may be able to stay longer and travel back independently if you find one location particularly interesting. We would recommend that you stay with at least one other person, have the address of our accommodation and also funds to pay for your independent return.

Unless otherwise indicated, once we arrive at our destination, you then have free time to explore. The leader will have suggestions of things to do but you may like to do your own research as well or download an app such as 'Visit a city', which gives key information for popular destinations.

Each section below refers to an excursion on a different day.

Final payment: when?
The balance of your holiday payment is due by 09 Oct 2024. Please make a note of this date. We send e-mail reminders but sometimes e-mails don't arrive! You can pay this online by clicking here. To pay in instalments, log on to your booking and add a part payment at any time before the deadline. If you are no longer able to travel, then please let us know.
