Serving on the Oak Hall team in Administration

Serving in the office with Oak Hall Expeditions:

As Oak Hall Expeditions continues to grow, we are praying for more team to join us - particularly to serve in the office.

We currently have two different roles available.

The first role is Communication and Bookings and would include:

welcoming guests on the telephone to answer their queries;
looking after the financial side of bookings;
responding to emails from guests;

The second role is Assistant Expedition Planner and would include:

liaising with hotels, airlines and coach companies;
producing information packs for guests and team;
researching new destinations
contact with guests and team members

About you

For both roles, you have previous office experience, are gifted at administration, love details and interacting with people. You are competent with computers and enjoy hard work in a busy environment. You respect confidentiality, are well organised, proactive and adaptable. You can legally work in the UK. Ideally, you are able to relocate to live at Otford Manor.

You are a keen Christian plugged into and serving at your local church. Your greatest hesitation about joining our team is leaving your church, but you are excited about our vision and keen to use your gifts to serve many local churches by sending them refreshed Christians who have their eyes fixed on Jesus. You have probably travelled with us in the past and found it a blessing.

Following Jesus Christ

There is a genuine occupational requirement for you to be a keen Christian involved in your local church and holding to the same core beliefs as us; so that:

  • you can fully participate in our daily times of prayer and Bible reading;
  • you can inspire, encourage and advise our guests to return to their churches with their eyes fixed on Jesus;
  • you can make decisions in line with our vision, values and ethos;
  • you can advise team members in line with our vision, values and ethos.

In a nutshell

For both roles, you will aim to make sure that our guests' interactions with us are as positive as possible, so that nothing puts them off coming away to hear God speak to them. You will make decisions based on the ethos, vision and values of Oak Hall.

Communications and Bookings role: You will be our guests' first point of contact as they book an expedition with Oak Hall. You will answer their questions by telephone and e-mail, process their bookings and handle their payments. You will make sure that the office runs smoothly by ordering supplies and preparing rotas.

Assistant Expedition Planner role: You will help the Expedition Planning Co-ordinator make sure that all expeditions run smoothly by gathering, organising and presenting information. This will involve tasks such as: liaising with hotels, airlines and coach companies; producing information packs for guests and team; helping guests via phone and e-mail with their booking queries; keeping accurate accounts; researching new destinations.

We are a busy dynamic team so life is varied! The core of your work and time will be as outlined above, but there will be other avenues of service: for example, you might help with hosting a weekend at Otford Manor, cleaning a coach, driving small vehicles, promoting Oak Hall at Christian events, seeing off departing groups in the evenings or at an airport. We will send you out to serve on two Oak Hall expeditions each year - one summer and one winter.

We will expect you to join and be fully involved with a church near Otford Manor and live in line with Biblical principles.

Day to day

We start each day in prayer and Bible study at 0825, before getting stuck into our tasks at 0900. We take a lunch break and then normally finish at 1730. Dinner is available at 1800. We take two days off a week, one of which is a Sunday so that we can be fully involved with a local church.

As you serve, you will be provided with a salary including pension provision etc. (details on request) and accommodation at Otford Manor.
