Bulletin 16th March 2020: Thank you for praying as this unusual situation with Corona Virus also impacts Oak Hall Expeditions.

Over the last few days, we have been working hard to care for our guests and team as the drama unfolding across Europe has continued.

The first 13 weeks of winter 2020 have been fantastic times: enjoying the beauty of the mountains, having fun together and studying God's Word. Sadly, at the weekend, both Austria and Switzerland announced that they would close all their ski resorts as from 13th March. As a result, the last five weeks of this winter season will not be able to go ahead.

Last weekend, we were able to bring the Aprica group home very smoothly and quickly despite the prevailing situation there in Italy. The Austrian group in Schladming (TA13) returned home as scheduled but TA14 did not run. Meanwhile, in Lauterbrunnen, our group (L14) are returning home through the night tonight after half of their holiday. After brief 'pack-downs' the Schladming and Lauterbrunnen teams are also due to head for home very shortly as different countries in Europe apparently prepare to close their borders.

It is in times like these that a depth of character - that Christ-reflecting heart - has been seen all the more clearly in so many of our guests and team. We praise God for the amazing fellowship we share in the Lord Jesus.

  • We would appreciate your prayer as we work to bring the last of our guests and team home and then support them here.
  • We pray on together for our nations - that through this sudden insight into our cultures' fragility and weakness, many would seek a Saviour and meet the Lord Jesus!
  • May you know the 'peace that transcends understanding' during these days - and God's leading as you seek to live for His glory in the place that He has put you.
  • We worship the Sovereign God together - He has a purpose that will bring Him glory through these more challenging days.

With warm greetings from your friends here at Oak Hall,

Andy
- for the Oak Hall team
