A delightful country

Portugal has a fascinating mix of the old, rural culture and modern life. The Atlantic coast is beautiful, with wide sandy beaches and lush foliage. The Portuguese are welcoming and hospitable. 

Our three-star hotel, Costa da Prata 1, is located on the seafront in the town of Figueira da Foz. The waters of the Atlantic are cool and the beach is known for its waves. At our hotel, the rooms are en-suite, with air conditioning. Our evening meals with simple but hearty Portuguese food, will be in the sister hotel, which is located 300m from our hotel.  

 
 

Plenty of time to enjoy the area

There will be plenty to see and do as our optional package of three excursions takes us to explore the villages, towns and other places of interest, including the attractive city of Coimbra. The beautiful, historic university buildings are well worth exploring. In the cafés, enjoy the special, milky coffee and Portuguese tarts.  
 
 
 

The beautiful walled town of Obidos

The preserved mediaeval town of Obidos is a remarkable location. Walking along the ramparts of the city walls, you will find beautiful views of the red-tiled roofs in the town and the surrounding farmlands on the other side. In the narrow cobbled streets, the shops are filled with interesting local crafts.

 
 

Explore the historic city of Porto

The second largest city in Portugal has been settled since Roman times. The narrow and steep lanes are listed World Heritage sites and they wind their way down to the medieval waterfront. There is much to see, from the interesting shops through the museums and galleries to the amazing bridges on the river. You can also choose to relax in one of the many cafés.

The lively town of Nazaré

Nazaré is a buzzing seaside town nestled at the foot of steep cliffs. It is split into two parts - down by the sea and up on the cliffs with stunning views. A funicular railway runs between the two. A stroll along the narrow streets takes you past cafés, restaurants, churches and shops crammed with inviting wares.
 
 

Enjoy surfing from the sandy beaches

This stretch of the Portuguese coast is known worldwide for its surfing and we are ideally located to try it on our free days, whether you have surfed before or not. The local surf school offers group lessons at a cost of approximately €25 per person including transport and equipment hire. 

Whether we have spent the day surfing, exploring the Portuguese towns or relaxing on the beach, each evening we enjoy a time of singing and an interesting Bible talk.

Dates/Prices

The cost includes flights, airport taxes, airport transfers, three-star hotel accommodation in air-conditioned, en-suite rooms for two, breakfast and evening meals while at the hotel.

Optional excursion package: £88

The deposit is £150 if booking more than two months in advance (plus single room supplement, if applicable).

Independent Travel

You can select to travel independently during the booking process (NB we are unable to book one way flights or change the date of travel).

You can see the independent discount on the same page as the group flight times (click on 'View/Book' if you are viewing this message on the Dates and Prices page).

The cost for the optional airport transfer is shown later in the booking process.

The airport transfer is booked to coincide with the group flights. Please note that the driver would not be able to wait if you miss the transfer on the first day. If you are not booking on the same flight as the group, we would suggest booking a flight that arrives at least 2 hours before the group flight in case of any delays to your flight.

On the last day, please book a flight which departs after the group flight if you wish to use the airport transfer.

Please do not book your flights until you have received an email from Oak Hall confirming your place on this trip.

If you are travelling independently but someone else in your party will use the group flights, please make separate bookings.

If there are any changes to the holiday, we would not be able to cover the cost of changes to your independent flights. We would therefore recommend booking fully flexible tickets or joining the holiday using our flights.
