Explore the Scottish Borders

Oak Hall are back in Scotland. We will be staying at the three-star Waverley Castle Hotel on the edge of Melrose, a quaint town on the right bank of the River Tweed next to the Eildon Hills.

Melrose is in the Scottish Borders and the journey from England is completed in just one day with no overnight travel.

Local Attractions

The local shops will have plenty of Scottish shortbread and other local crafts. There will be much to see locally including Melrose Abbey and the former home of Sir Walter Scott. The coast of Northumbria has dramatic scenery, including wide sandy beaches and fishing villages.


Travel by luxury coach

Our coach will be taking us on an optional package of excursions, including Edinburgh just 33 miles away. The majestic capital city of Scotland is full of impressive sights waiting to be discovered.

We also explore the east coast of Northumbria, with visits to Bamburgh, Holy Island, Seahouses, and Alnwick. Each offers a treasure trove of historical wonders and breath-taking vistas. Enjoy charming villages and cosy cafés amidst the picturesque landscape of the northeast.
