The Jungfrau – top alpine region and an exceptional location for winter sports

Under the mighty Eiger and Jungfrau mountains, 213km of prepared pistes await with a network of 45 lifts and 64 interlinked runs - along with amazing scenery and lots of sun!

Lauterbrunnen is perfectly placed for exploring the pistes above the picturesque village of Mürren as well as Kleine Scheidegg. From Mürren the lift system provides a full variety of runs, rising to the famous and demanding James Bond Schilthorn black run that starts amidst stunning views at 2,971m. With a 2,171m descent all the way to our village, this is the route of the world famous Inferno Race.

... and even more at Kleine Scheidegg

This area provides the best variety for those wanting an exhilarating experience or just to take in this awe-inspiring mountain setting. From easy blues through winding tree-lined paths to challenging blacks beneath the Eiger’s north face, this is an exceptional ski area. With the world cup held here each year, famous Kleine Scheidegg is the favourite snowsport resort for many!

At Kleine Scheidegg we use two practice areas with easy tows enabling beginners to build up skills and confidence before venturing onto the main runs.

A ski pass offering the best value

A ski pass that covers First, Kleine Scheidegg and Männlichen currently costs approximately £140 for those under 20 and around £180 for over 20’s. This can be paid for one week prior to your departure through the Oak Hall website.

Winter walks, the highest railway in Europe, ice skating and curling

From Lauterbrunnen there are a wide variety of prepared winter walks as well as the chance to travel through the Eiger to the highest railway station in Europe - the world famous Jungfraujoch.

For a change from the slopes, the local railways offer a variety of excursions that enable you to visit some of the most beautiful scenes in the Swiss Alps including the lakeside town of Interlaken. You can also take the mountain train to Grindelwald, Wengen or Mürren for ice-skating, curling, indoor swimming pools, saunas and fitness rooms.

Welcoming Chalet Jungfrau for a week - just £198

Once again we provide the unbeatable combination of top action on the slopes with excellent alpine hospitality for your holiday at a remarkably low cost including three meals a day after arrival and free tea, coffee and hot chocolate at our modern Swiss chalet. The standard chalet bedrooms accommodate four in comfortable bunk rooms. Every bedroom has its own washbasin and there are a good number of additional facilities throughout the centre, including plenty of hot showers.

A small supermarket, internet facilities, a restaurant, information bureau and cash point are close to the chalet with more amenities in the village a short walk away. Each morning our local bus departs just 100m from the chalet. A 5 minute journey takes us to the mountain railway that winds up to Wengen and Kleine Scheidegg.

Our Oak Hall team will lead the Bible talks at our meetings each evening, with a range of fun activities to follow for those ready for more! Fondues, mountain walks, ceilidhs or a warm friendly environment for those just wanting to sit and chat about their day.

Excellent wintersports equipment and top ski and snowboard instruction

In each resort we have excellent quality winter sports equipment available for hire. Our expert team conveniently fit your equipment – usually the evening before your first day on snow. A set of equipment (skis, poles and boots or a snowboard and boots) for a holiday costs just £67 and is booked in advance when you reserve your holiday online.

Whether beginner or expert, it is always good to have Oak Hall ski or snowboard lessons! Each coaching programme of 10 hours usually comprises 5 sessions lasting for 2 hours with up to 10 others of a similar ability to you. Costing £68, it is an excellent way to develop your skills on the mountain and to get to know others in your group well.
