New Weekends for 2019

For 2019 we have added a couple of new weekend events to our Otford Manor program.

Both in March, we'll be asking, what part can we play in the daunting mission of reaching the ends of the earth with the good news of Jesus? On the Reaching the Nations weekend we set aside time to learn, pray and get excited about what God is doing in the world. Come and hear from experienced missionaries, pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters and chat about what you can do for the spread of the gospel globally.

Then later that month we'll be asking, what does God have to say to us about what we do and how we do it? Do we just work to earn a living or is there more to it? Work is an extremely important part of our lives as most of us spend a considerable part of each day in our workplaces. Together we will explore what the Bible says about the important topic of work on our God in the Workplace weekend.

Some of the new weekends introduced in 2018 will again be available this year, including the prayer weekend and the photography weekend.

On all our events there is time for fellowship, worship & Bible teaching.

We continue to run the weekends that were very popular throughout 2018 including the bonfire and new year weekends that include a spectacular display of fireworks seen for miles around.

Breathtaking views high in the hills

Oak Hall is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are breathtaking views across the Weald of Kent, and the area is a blaze of colour for much of the year. The house is situated on the North Downs Way and offers easy access to footpaths in the surrounding countryside.

Relaxing by the pool or playing volleyball

With one hundred and fifty acres of grounds there is plenty of space for everybody to relax. There is a games hall with table tennis, pool and table football. A volleyball court is also available. The swimming pool on the terrace, available from June to September, faces south to absorb the warmth of the sunshine.

Loving our Environment

God’s creation is beautiful and we want to do our part to protect it. At Oak Hall we have fifty acres of preserved woodland with hundreds of oaks, birches and beech trees. It provides an unspoilt habitat for the wildlife including owls, badgers and foxes. A further one hundred acres of downs and pastures provide us with walks amongst the flowers and rare orchids.

Excellent meals in the Tudor Dining Hall

Meals are served in our Tudor Dining Hall, where there is a welcoming log fire in cooler weather. We pride ourselves on providing the very best in traditional English meals and dishes from across the world.

Plenty to see and do...

Kent is a county that caters for a wide range of interests. You can explore Leeds Castle, Knole Deer Park, Lullingstone Roman Villa, Chartwell, Bewl Water, and many other fascinating places. In addition there is the fun of ice-skating or ten-pin bowling just a short drive away. We are also within easy reach of the sights of London.

The Oak Hall Team will organise a range of events for each weekend. These might include our walks, games, a quiz evening for film. However if you prefer just to relax, that’s fine with us!

A Weekend to visit Ypres – Historic Battlefields of Northern Europe

The battles of the first world war were fought within 100 kilometres of our Kent coast. The roar of the battle of the Somme was heard in the hills where our Oak Hall Manor stands. In November, using the manor as our base, we have planned a valuable day visiting interesting locations.

Journeying to Belgium
We make our way through the French and Belgian countryside to visit the Memorial Museum Passchendaele, with its underground trenches and bunkers complete with dressing station, sleeping places and workshops.

Ypres & the Menin Gate
Ypres which has a rich and varied past. The impressive, medieval cloth hall dates from 1304 when it was one of one of the main cloth centres. This now hosts a large and very moving, modern, living exhibition depicting the senselessness of war. The backstreets are lined by Flemish shops and cafés to provide us with a taste of Belgium. We'll witness the Last Post being played at the Menin Gate before our journey home to the manor.

WORD. at Otford Manor

The WORD. weekends and Bible Week at Otford Manor are wonderful opportunities to dig more deeply...

To many Christians, much of the Bible is something of a mystery. We all have our favourite passages, but how does it all fit together? Is there a map to find our way around? How can it be interpreted and applied to our fast changing 21st Century world?
