US West Coast

A road trip stateside
Exciting new itinerary for 2019
Los Angeles to San Francisco...

Oak Hall go west

In 2018, our new US west coast tour filled quickly, prompting us to create a second group, which was also very popular. We are pleased to be heading across the Atlantic again this year, for a 10-day American road trip in the heart of the west coast of the United States. This unique opportunity will take you to the intersection of four different states to see some of the most amazing scenery in the world.

City of angels

Our journey begins in the south west of California, as we land in Los Angeles, the film capital of the world. Here we will get a feel for this vibrant city, as we explore the glamorous districts of Santa Monica and Beverly Hills. Walking along the famed Hollywood Boulevard, with the handprints of film celebrities embedded in the concrete, we begin to see the impact showbusiness has had on this city.

"The sights we saw were absolutely amazing!"
Lesley, September 2018

Into the wild

As we check out from our hotel in California, we will travel comfortably by air-conditioned coach to the Joshua Tree National Park, with its strange rock formations and unique trees stretching their arms to the sky as if in prayer.

Route 66

As we journey on along the famous Route 66, we head straight to the wild wild west of Arizona and Utah, once part of the American frontier. Here we will stand in awe as we look out over the Grand Canyon. After many years of erosion, the Colorado river now flows more than a mile below the rim of the canyon, creating a remarkable natural sight.

Other natural highlights of the area that we will be seeing include Lake Powell and the striking canyon at Horseshoe Bend. Kanab is often referred to as 'Little Hollywood' because of the number of western movies that have been filmed there. At Zion Canyon there are 2000ft cliffs, and plateaus covered in pine and juniper trees. We also stop overnight at Las Vegas.

An action-packed tour

To make the most of our time in the country, we will move on most days to a new region and a new hotel. On our travels we will see incredible contrasts as we travel across the different US states. After the scenery of canyons and rivers, our tour then takes us to peer into the fresh pine woods and spectacular vistas of the Yosemite National Park.

In the evenings, we will meet for a time of singing and to hear a helpful talk from the Bible.

If you’re going to San Francisco...

This memorable trip will finish with a visit to the magnificent city of San Francisco, high on a hill above the blue sea. Catch a cable car to Chinatown, admire the view of the Golden Gate Bridge or enjoy fresh seafood down in Fisherman’s Wharf. San Francisco is one of the world’s most filmed and photographed locations, which means you might suddenly find yourself in the sequel of your favourite film!

Join us this summer for an adventure stateside.
